Emotional Intelligence

EQI 2.0 Assessments

Based on the Bar-On-EQ-i model by Reuven Bar-On, copyright 1997.

We Can Only Lead Others As Far As We Can Lead Ourselves

Emotional intelligence is proven to be a key indicator of human performance and development, and the Emotional Quotient Inventory 2.0 (EQ-i 2.0 – the assessment we offer at Impact Leadership), is the leading measure of it. It’s been administered to over one million people in 66 countries and translated into 45 languages. Used primarily for coaching and development, the tool helps to determine and address an individual’s personal development needs through the measurement of emotional intelligence

We’ve instinctively known for a long time that it’s not all about cognitive intelligence (IQ), and other factors are at least as important when it comes to success in life (ever heard the phrase mindset over skillset?). In fact, one could even make the argument that to take advantage of our IQ, we first need good EQ, because regardless of how smart we may be, if we turn people off with abrasive behaviour, are unaware of how we are presenting ourselves and show up for others, or cave in under minimal stress, no one will stick around long enough to notice our IQ (The EQ Edge, S.J. Stein, PhD and H.E. Book, M.D., 2011).

EQ is not permanently fixed. The skills defined and measured by each of the EQi’s scales in this model can be improved no matter how old you are. The stronger you can develop your skills, the greater chance for success – the more likely you are to be a successful partner, parent, friend, leader, an adult child to your own parents, an employee. Whatever it is, it always requires EQ.

EQI 2.0 Leadership Assessment

Phil will provide you with a detailed assessment of your areas of strength and potential areas for development that will help frame the coaching engagement. Your comprehensive report will describe how your EQ competencies work together and provide suggested strategies for bringing them into balance for greater effectiveness. All of this will be done via powerful, one-on-one coaching sessions to help you in your continued growth and development.

EQI 360 Leadership Assessment

The EQi 360 assessment is a very powerful and humbling tool designed for maximum growth. It combines your own perceptions of your EQ with the perceptions of others who know you well. You will receive a comprehensive report as you would in an EQi 2.0, yet this time it will also include how others view your EQ, highlighting your strengths and blind spots that can be leveraged for further growth.
